Combo Side Braid

IMG_0096

Boho braids are such an easy way to add interest to your hair while keeping it out of your way (or disguising the fact that you need to wash it). I love doing Dutch braids and fishtail braids so I combined both braiding techniques to create this look!

side fishtail

1. Start with a side part.

2. Create a Dutch braid on the side of your part that has the most hair until you reach your ear.

3. Continue the braid as a fishtail using hair from both sides, leaving only a small section on the other side of the part.

4. Braid the hair on the other side of the part in a Dutch braid the whole way down. Pull it over to the other side, tuck it into the other braids, and secure it with bobby pins.

  1. Wow! I’ve never seen a combo braid like this!!! I love the look of the fishtail braid. πŸ™‚ You make it look easy but unless I have 2 pairs of hands and the ability to swivel my head, there’s no way I can pull this off!

    • Thanks!!! I’m glad that you like it!!! It takes awhile to get used to braiding techniques I can’t count the number of times they’ve just gone completely wrong lol!
Oh and I love fishtail braids as well, I don’t do them as often as I do Dutch braids because they take so much more time for me to finish.
