Products That I Use for Cystic Acne

Hello everyone,

Today’s blog post will be all about the products that I use treat and prevent cystic acne. I usually don’t have too much trouble with my skin other than hormonal acne but this month due to stress and just life in general, my skin has had a pretty rough time.

I’ve never had a cystic acne flare up as bad as this one. But like everyone else, when life gets rough my skin reacts badly. I’ve been trying to keep calm and relaxed but I’ve also added a lot of new products to my routine to help heal this flare up.

Step 1: CleanseDSC_0328

I like this cleanser because it’s really clarifying and it also helped calm my skin. Cystic acne can be really painful and the aloe in this product helped balance my skin out. It’s made by Mario Badescu and you can find this line at Ulta.

2. Step 2: TonerDSC_0320

One thing that you’ve got to worry about when you’ve got cystic acne is the threat of more acne spreading because of bacteria from your existing bumps. This toner by Clean & Clear is straight to the point, it kills bacteria and is really affordable.

3. Step 3: Acne TreatmentDSC_0339

This stuff is awesome! It’s really helped clear up my skin and it helped quicken the healing process. Since I started using it I have had a lot less active acne and the spots that I already had haven’t gotten worse.

If you have trouble skin and it persists even though you cleanse and moisturize every day you should think about adding a treatment into your skincare routine as a preventative step.

Step 4: Moisturizer

This product has been a really nice surprise. It’s from the Sephora line but it’s honestly just nice as a high end moisturizer. I’d never used one of their moisturizers before but I saw that it had good reviews online so I decided to give it a go.

It moisturizes, protects from the sun, and mattifies. On top of having acne prone skin I also have oily skin and this stuff does a pretty good job of preventing excess oil throughout the day.

Night MoisturizerDSC_0334

At night I go for a thicker moisturizer. Even though I have oily skin a lot of moisture is released from it due to all of the treatments that I put my skin through. The treatments can also leave dry patches on my skin and this moisturizer gets rid of them in a flash!

Step 5: Spot TreatmentDSC_0337

This treatment is formulated especially for cystic acne and I’ve been really liking it. The only downside is that it’s super drying. So much so that the manufacturer recommends that you only use it every other night.

That’s all for this blog post! I hope this is helpful for anyone else who suffers from flare up of cystic acne.
