The Anatomy of the Perfect Cheese Platter

Everyone loves cheese trays, well except for people who hate cheese. But for all of us who are cheese enthusiasts, they’re great for special occasions or when you just want to treat yourself! You don’t have to spend a lot of time creating it and you don’t have to spend a lot of money on your ingredients.

To find out how to throw together a tray that will fool people into thinking that you’re a sophisticated adult keep reading!DSC_0200

Dried Fruit: I went for dried cranberries but dried cherries & apricots go well with cheese.

Sliced Meat: If you’re on a budget skip the prosciutto and go for a high quality ham.

Cheese: My favorite type of cheese is extra sharp white cheddar, but go for whatever you like!

Crackers: Save yourself some calories and go for a reduced fat cracker, I actually like the reduced fat wheat thins better than the original ones.

Fresh Fruit: What goes better with a cheese tray than grapes?DSC_0196

You can add in whatever components you like, I just wanted to share the basic guide that I always build cheese trays from. If you’re hosting a party you may want to splurge for high quality cheese & meat but I honestly like just making them for myself (and yes I did eat this entire tray on my own).

Also, I thought I would mention the adorable bamboo cutting board I used. I got it from TJMaxx a few days ago for $3.99!
