Summer Beauty Bits

DSC_0072Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful start to the week. Today I want to share a couple of beauty bits that I’ve picked up recently for the summer season.

1. Tarte Eyelash Curler & Lights Camera Lashes SampleDSC_0068

I’d had the same eyelash curler for eons so I finally picked up this Tarte curler to replace it. It was $17 and it came with a sample of their Lights Camera Lashes mascara.

It works nicely but I can’t say that it’s life changing. I already have naturally curly lashes, but does it lift them up higher to give the illusion of more length which is nice. I have to admit I got sucked in by how cute it was, oh well!

2. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in LolitaDSC_0063

This lipstick was so difficult to get my hands on! But I finally got it and I love it! The shade lasts all day long and it’s a “my lips but better” shade which is perfect for the summer when I don’t want a really heavy makeup look. But make sure that you moisturize your lips well before you put in on, otherwise it can be drying and have a tacky/sticky feeling on the lips.

3. Too Faced Primed and Poreless Pure

DSC_0060I finally found a primer that works for me! It doesn’t have an overly matte finish it just makes the skin look natural and keeps the excess oil at bay. It also evens out the surface of my face, reduces pores, and doesn’t break me out! My makeup looks awesome underneath it and sometimes I put this on after my moisturizer on days that I’m not wearing makeup!

4. Sephora Collection Shadow/Liner Crayon in 08 GoldDSC_0047

DSC_0042This product is perfect for summer. It’s super quick to swipe it on and it lasts all day long. I’ve used it as a gold base for bronze looks, but it also looks great on its own. The color payoff is great and they’re cheaper than similar products that I’ve seen from higher end brands. I definitely want to try these Sephora crayons in some of the other shades that they have.

5. Wet & Wild Blush in Mellow WineDSC_0037

I was on the hunt for a deep toned blush with a terracotta like undertone so I picked this one up from the drugstore. I don’t have too much to say about this it’s ok for the price. It’s decently pigmented but you have to work with it so that it doesn’t look patchy.

6. Sephora Collection Tinted Brow Freeze in Dark

DSC_0034I really like this product! I’ve used it every day since I got it. If you like your brows on their own you could probably use this product by itself but I fill mine in with a powder then use the brow freeze to hold them in place.

7. Wet & Wild Coloricon Kohl Eyeliner in Calling Your Buff/Rose NaturelDSC_0037

This product looks really great when I have a look that’s a bit heavy on the eyes and I want to brighten up the waterline area. I’ve also used it as a base for brightening up my inner tear ducts.

8. L’Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Gloss in 202 Coral EncoreDSC_0023

DSC_0019I love love love this lip gloss! It is without a doubt my current favorite. I have it in my handbag at all times because it is super pretty, bright, and the brush makes the application flawless. It also looks really good paired with a golden eye, which is what I have on %90 of the time during the summer!

9. Boscia Sample Kit (Sephora 500 point perk)DSC_0014

Woohoo I finally cashed in my points! I love Boscia skincare so when I saw that they had a deluxe sampler kit I didn’t hesitate to get it. The first product from the kit is the Detoxifying Black Cleanser that is warming when you rub it in and leaves your skin super clean and vibrant. It also comes with Pore Purifying Black Strips which I haven’t tried yet. Next, is the Luminizing Black Mask which I swear by and have mentioned before in a skincare post that you can read here. Lastly, is the Revitalizing Black Hydration Gel that is really cooling and instantly minimizes your pores. This Boscia line is perfect for my skin needs so if you have oily/acne prone skin I definitely recommend this line!

Well that’s all folks! What are your must have summer makeup items?

  1. I really love those Sephora jumbo eye shadows pencils – I have a whole bunch of them and they perform as well as higher end brands. They come out with sets at Holiday time, which are better value.
That’s a really nice 500 pt perk. I redeemed for the Origins one not long ago and it’s pretty impressive.
