DIY Lavender Scrub

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well. Today I’ll be sharing a recipe for a homemade scrub.

I’ve seen so many bloggers do DIY scrubs and after shelling out a fair amount of money on them over the years, I decided to see how an at home version would work out.

DSC_0046I decided to make a lavender scrub because I’d already dried some lavender that I found growing outside my house and I figured this would be a good use for it.

Here’s what you’ll need: DSC_0078234

1/2 cup coarse sugar

1/4 cup coconut oil

2 tbsp honey

1 tbsp dried lavender

8-10 drops lavender essential oil

1. Add in the oil & honey to the sugarDSC_0074

3. Add the dried lavender & essential oilDSC_0082

3. Give it a good mix & you’re done!

DSC_0088This scrub was so easy to make and the majority of the ingredients are super easy to come by and very affordable. The only thing that you may have trouble getting your hands on is the essential oil. You can find it at Whole Foods or if you don’t one, I would try your local health food store.

The honey is great because it has natural antibacterial properties, antioxidants, and hydrates the skin. The coconut oil is ultra hydrating because it gets really deep into the skin and it’s also known to prevent signs of aging.

I hope this gives you some inspiration. You don’t have to use lavender, you can use the base of the recipe as a guide ( the sugar, oil, and honey) and then add in whatever ingredients that you want to spice it up.

One last tip! I made this primarily on my feet so it was great that it was so exfoliating but if you want to use this on an area where your skin is more sensitive I would opt for fine sugar or just use the scrub with a very light hand.
