Spring Beauty Must Haves!

DSC_0024Happy Friyay everyone! Today I have a beauty post for you. These are a few of the beauty products that I have been using for the past week or so.

The warmer weather and gorgeous flowers that are blooming all around have really been inspiring for my wardrobe and my makeup routine. I’ve been going for bright pretty lips and shimmery golden eyes.

Keep reading to find out my spring beauty must haves!

1. Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadow in Rio De Rose GoldDSC_0045DSC_0051

This eye product is something that I’ve been using non-stop since I picked it up at Sephora.

It’s called a watercolor eyeshadow and that’s a good name for it because it is has the consistency of a true liquid, but don’t let that fool you because it’s packed with pigment.

I did two swatches in the picture above. If you want it to be bold you can apply the color and let it get tacky before blending it out, or you can blend it when you apply it for a sheer shimmer. However, if you want it to be more opaque make sure you don’t let it dry completely because the dry time is rather quick and it doesn’t budge once the product has set.

2. MAC Eyeshadow in Expensive PinkDSC_0018

This is used to be one of my all time favorite eyeshadows from MAC a few years ago and I recently re-purchased it and fell in love with it all over again. It looks so pretty on the eyes and also looks beautiful layered on top of the Josie Maran watercolor eyeshadow. If you can’t tell I’m loving rose gold πŸ˜‰

3. Kat Von D Ink Liner in Trooper

DSC_0056I’ve tried the Stila Stay All Day liner as well as the Kat Von D tatoo liner and I have to say that the Ink liner tops them both in my book! It stays in place all day long, is ultra black, super precise, and has Kat Von D’s patented no-fray tip.

It makes doing winged liner a snap, or just doing a thin line when I want to go for a more simple look.

4. Lasting Finish Kate Moss for Rimmel Lipstick in 109

DSC_0034I really like this shade. When I bought it I was a little apprehensive. I usually go for deep or cherry reds and this one definitely has orange undertones. It just brightens up your whole look and keeps it fresh while still making a statement.

The only thing that I’m not big on is that this lipstick doesn’t last well throughout the day. You have to re-apply a couple of times and some of it did transfer and move around throughout the day. I’m going to try and look for an orangey/red lip liner to pair with it.

5. NYX Butter GlossDSC_0058

DSC_0061This gloss is great if you want something that is really pretty that you can just throw in your bag and apply without a mirror and still have it look nice. The consistency of the NYX butter glosses are so nice. Just as the name suggests, they feel like butter on the lips and this candy pink goes well with the golden eyeshadow tones that I’ve been wearing lately!

That’s all for this post, but if you have any beauty recommendations for spring or things that you’ve been loving lately please leave them below! One my favorite parts of blogging is reading the comments that everyone leaves!

  1. Wow that Josie Maran product looks way too awesome. The pigment and the shimmer. Oh my! So nice. I did a post on my fave spring blushes last week. I really like peachy pink blushes for spring/summer. I’m happy that we get to see each other not only on wordpress but now twitter and instagram ❀

  2. The Rimmel by Kate Moss lipsticks are definitely some of my favorites at the drugstore! Which shade is that?

Also, (since you know I’ve been comparing liquid liners lately) what’s the difference between the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner and the Kat Von D Ink liner?

    • Oops I forgot to put the shade in! It’s number 109! Thanks for catching that Jackie! I’ll have to add that into the post.
The ink liner has a richer black color and it’s a waterproof version of the Kat Von D liner. Which is tricky to get off with regular makeup remover, but I use MAC Cleanse Off oil to take off my eye makeup every day so it comes off in a flash!

    • Hm… I wonder if I’d like it better than the Tatto liner then? (One of my biggest issues was that the tattoo liner flaked off in the outside corners where my eyes get watery.) The Sephora website says that the Ink Liner has a “felt tip?” Is it different than the “brush tip” on the Tattoo liner?

Sorry for all the questions– you’ve just peaked my interest!

    • No problem! I love having convos with people who love makeup as much as I do!
I just tested them both and the tatoo liner has the brush tip which is more flexible and made of little bristles and the ink liner is the felt tip which more firm and a bit wider as well.
As for the flaking the waterproof formula might work better for you!
