Reese’s Smoothie: Healthy-ish on a Dime

Hey everyone! I’m going to be starting a new recipe series where I share healthy recipe that taste great and are made with affordable and accessible ingredients. Sometimes I get really frustrated when I’m trying to find recipes that have ingredients that are good for you but they have things that are either too expensive or too hard to find. I’m also going to call it healthy-ish because I think having a healthy lifestyle is all about finding balance in between things that are good for you and food that you also love to eat.

Today’s recipe is one of my favorite smoothies to make. It is a smoothie inspired by the peanut butter/chocolatey goodness of a peanut butter cup. It is perfect for a breakfast on the go, a snack, or a dessert that doesn’t leave you feeling guilty afterwards.

2 frozen bananas

1/2 cup milk of your choice

1 tsp cinnamon

2 tbsp cocoa powder

1 1/2 tbsp peanut butter

Directions

Add 3/4 of your frozen bananas to the blender along with the cocoa powder and cinnamon then blend until smooth. Next add the rest of your bananas and the peanut butter. This process will ensure that your smoothie is completely blended and retains thickness.

DSC_0021I hope that you enjoyed this post! This smoothie is such a treat and with only 5 ingredients it is extremely easy to make. The frozen bananas give it a really smooth texture and have enough natural sugar to sweeten it; it’s more like a milkshake than a smoothie!

Take Care,

xoxo Lauren

  1. Ooh! This looks so yummy. It’s similar to a recipe I make, although I also add a little bit of plain Greek yogurt to add some creaminess.

    Can’t wait to try it!
