Curly Q’s and Straight Talk: Essence & Pantene Event

Yesterday I was lucky enough to attend a Pantene and Essence event at the amazing Westin hotel in Atlanta. There were massages, hair primpers, a super fun photo booth, cocktails, and most importantly there was a panel discussion on different methods for black women to maintain healthy beautiful hair.

Along with getting some really helpful tips on how to keep my hair healthy by stylists and other bloggers (such as hand held steamers like the Q-Redew). However, one of the most important things to be discussed that night was the fact that your hair is YOUR accessory and you have the right to do whatever you want with it.

In recent times many people in the black community judge you if you aren’t “natural”, but the fact is natural hair just isn’t for everyone and that’s ok. If it fits with your style and makes you feel beautiful then go with it and don’t let others convince you otherwise.
